Like many of the spiked seltzer’s that I’ve had to date, usually the lime or lemon version of the bunch is usually the best tasting of the bunch but oddly enough, this lime one pales in comparison to the strawberry one that I mildly liked a lot more than I had originally anticipated.
Upon the first sip of this beverage, I find that its lime flavor is rather usual. And by that, I mean that rind flavor is very pronounced over the actual lime flavor. Yes, you read that correctly. The rind flavor, the skin of the lime, in other words, is the flavor that I taste and it is unusually pronounced. It’s a rather strong rind flavor and has quite a sharp tart taste to boot, which isn’t the best of combinations for what is considered the golden standard when it comes to spiked seltzers.

I’m not entirely sure what happened here with respect to this specific flavor. The lime part only surfaces as an after-thought, if anything, which is rather bizarre. The lime flavor can only be detected in the finish, rather than at the fore front of the flavor profile.

Compared to the strawberry one, I’m hesitantly going to recommend that over the lime flavor, which is a first in a long while for me. Usually, the tried-and-true flavors, I would recommend over ‘out there’ flavors but in this case, it’s the reverse, at least in this particular brand of spiked seltzer. So far as technical details go, it’s like the other flavors in the pack, 12 fluid ounce can, rated at a 7% ABV and is 150 calories per can.

All in all, for the Cacti brand of spiked seltzers, you’re better off with the other flavors than the lime. The lime one is my least favorite in the batch, which is ironic when I have saved the ‘best’ for last, only to find out after-the-fact that this lime flavor did not live up to the hype like their other flavors in the variety pack did.
